The name is a topping list
Hawaiian pizza is the pie people either defend or refuse. The usual version is tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, and pineapple. The sweet fruit against the salt is the whole idea. It is not a pizza from Hawaii in any strict sense, and it is not a health food. It is a specialty pie with two toppings that do not show up together on a plain cheese order.
At Brooklyn's Finest Pizza, the menu line is specific. Hawaiian pizza is a large pie, 8 slices, $23.99, described as pineapple and ham. That is the description on the order site. We are not adding bacon, jalapeño, or a barbecue sauce the item does not name. If you want those, they are different pies or a build-your-own, and you should order them under their own names on the menu.
Who it is for
Order it when someone at the table actually wants pineapple. Do not order it as a surprise for a person who has already said no. A large is 8 slices, so a split table can do a Hawaiian and a plain cheese instead of forcing one pie to settle the argument. A cheese slice is $2.99 if one person wants out entirely.
It is also a normal pie for a weeknight, not a novelty we hide. It sits with the other specialty large pies: hot honey roni, buffalo chicken, chicken bacon ranch, and the rest. The hot honey post is the spicy cousin if pineapple is the wrong direction. Prices on specialty larges are not all the same. Read the one you are buying.
How a shop pie differs from a home one
A home Hawaiian is dough or a crust, sauce, cheese, ham, and a can of pineapple. Drain the fruit if you do not want a wet center. Ham or Canadian bacon both show up in home recipes. Our item says ham. We are not publishing our dough formula, our oven, or a pineapple cut. This post is not a copy of the kitchen's recipe. It is a description of the pie you can order.
If you are making one at home anyway, keep the toppings sparse. Pineapple releases water. Too much fruit, too much ham, and the center steams instead of baking. A hot oven and a shorter bake beat a long bake on a crowded pie. That is general pizza advice. It is not a set of times from our deck.
Ordering it here
Order at Order Online, which is order.brooklynsfinestsi.com, or call (718) 815-7070. On an iPhone or iPad, the app sends the same menu. The address is 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305. You can sit down, pick up, or check delivery inside 4 miles. Hours go to 10:00 PM, and to 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday.
Hawaiian pizza is on the specialty list as a large. We do not list a personal Hawaiian or a Sicilian Hawaiian. If you need a different size, ask (718) 815-7070 before you assume the kitchen will recut the idea. A large cheese pie can be built with toppings the menu allows. The named Hawaiian is the pineapple-and-ham large at $23.99.
Leave the argument at the table
You do not have to like it. You do have to order the pie the person who likes it asked for, if that is the deal. Pineapple on pizza is a preference, not a fact about quality. Our job is to list the pie honestly and sell the one on the menu. Your job is to decide if ham and pineapple belong in the same box.
If the answer is yes, order the Hawaiian. If the answer is no, order a cheese pie, a grandma's pie, or a hero and let the other person have their slices. The menu has room for both. The shop is at 1250 Hylan Boulevard, and the pie is 8 slices either way.
A large is enough for two or three people if it is the main food, and not enough for a party. Add a second pie rather than asking the kitchen to stretch pineapple across a Sicilian the menu does not list. Kids often like this pie and adults often do not, which is a fine reason to order two different larges. Confirm $23.99 in the cart. Delivery still stops at 4 miles. Pickup at 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305 does not. Nothing in the pineapple debate changes the hours or the fact that this is one specialty pie among many.
If you are ordering for people who have never had it, put one Hawaiian and one plain cheese on the ticket and let them taste before a second Hawaiian. Leftover pineapple slices keep their shape in a box. Reheat them on a sheet so the bottom stays crisp. And if the table also wants wings or a hero, those are separate items with their own names. The Hawaiian is the pie. It is not a topping you silently add to every other large. Say pineapple and ham when you order if you are on the phone, so the specialty name and the toppings match.
