Food Staten Island can mean a diner, a food truck, a supermarket hot bar, or a pizzeria that also plates pasta. Brooklyn's Finest Pizza is the last one. The categories people actually order
Start with pizza if that is the meal. Round cheese pies come in personal, medium, large, and extra-large. The menu lists a large cheese pie as 8 slices at $19.49 and a cheese slice at $2.99. Sicilian and grandma's are the square pies. Specialty large pies are named on the menu, from vodka-sauce pies to chicken bacon ranch. Build-your-own starts from the classic cheese line. Confirm the price at checkout, because a topping changes the ticket.
Then leave the pizza section. Appetizers include garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, fried calamari, and potato croquettes. Heroes include chicken parm, meatball parm, veal parm, and a long list of neighborhood names. Wraps are made to order, including a breakfast wrap of bacon, egg, and cheese. Pasta dishes can be spaghetti, linguine, ziti, penne, or rigatoni, and gluten-free pasta is available. Baked ziti, fettuccine Alfredo, and pasta with vodka sauce are on that list. Entrées are served with a salad or pasta. The dinner specials — Belt Parkway, Prospect Expressway, B.Q.E., and Ocean Parkway — come with potato croquettes and brick-oven bread.
Drinks, desserts, and the things that are not on the list
Drinks stay in pizzeria territory. Soda, coffee, water, an old fashioned Brooklyn egg cream, a Manhattan Special, Stewart's, and an ice cream soda float are on the drinks page. Desserts on the menu include a cannoli, zeppole, a fried Oreo, fried Twinkies, and Juniors cheesecake. There is no cocktail list and no beer menu on this site. If a page somewhere else calls us a bar, it is ahead of what we publish.
There is also no separate brunch menu and no published lunch special. The kitchen opens at 10:00 AM Monday through Saturday and at 10:30 AM on Sunday, and it closes at 10:00 PM, or 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. You can eat a pie or a hero in that window. You should not plan on a breakfast buffet or a late-night bar menu. The hours are the hours.
