Keep the meal simple
Catering for a funeral is usually a repast: people coming back to a house, a hall, or a church room who need to eat without a long menu discussion. Familiar food helps. Pies, baked ziti, chicken parm, a salad, and heroes are familiar. Brooklyn's Finest Pizza can make those. We do not publish a funeral package, a set menu for a service, or a special price for grief. You order the same trays as any other gathering, and you tell us the time so the food is ready when people are.
Call (718) 815-7070. A phone call is the right tool here. Say the date, the approximate head count, whether it is pickup or a delivery address, and who will meet the food. If the day is a holiday, including Christmas Eve, ask whether the shop is open. We do not publish holiday hours on this site. The Christmas Eve page says the same thing. Do not assume.
How much food
A half tray serves 6–9 people. A full tray serves 10–15. For a repast, a full tray of pasta and a full tray of chicken or eggplant, plus pies, covers a small gathering. A larger group needs more trays, using the same math as any other crowd. The 50-person post is that math if the room is large. Err a little long rather than short. Leftovers are easier than an empty table.
Heroes work when people will eat standing up. A 3-foot serves 10 and a 6-foot serves 20. Details are on the hero catering page. Pies are 8 slices a large. Two slices a person is a modest plan if pizza is the meal. If the trays are the meal, the pies can be fewer. Write it down before you call so you are not inventing the menu while you are also handling everything else.
Pickup and delivery
Pickup at 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305 is the sure option. Delivery is within 4 miles, and the order site confirms the address. If the repast is outside that radius, plan on someone picking the food up. Put their name on the order. Give a time that matches when people will actually sit down, and leave a margin. The shop is open until 10:00 PM, and until 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. If the service runs long, call the shop rather than hoping the food waits past close.
The catering page lists the trays. The catering special on the specials page is a smaller bundle with its own printed terms. Use it only if that size fits. Do not add a coupon. This is not the moment for a deal that does not match the head count. Order the trays you counted.
What to say when you call
Date, time, head count, pickup or address, and two or three foods. Mention allergies if you know them. Gluten-free pasta can be requested. It is not every tray. Ask. You do not need a theme. You need food that people will eat without instructions.
Order at Order Online, which is order.brooklynsfinestsi.com, or call (718) 815-7070. On an iPhone or iPad, the app sends the same menu. For a repast, the phone is better than a cart you build alone. Catering for a funeral, from this shop, is trays and pies from the regular kitchen, timed to your day, at 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305. We are sorry you are planning it. We will take the order plainly, and we will not dress it up as something it is not. When you call, you only need the day, the time, about how many people, and two foods they will recognize. Baked ziti and chicken parm are the usual pair. Pies if the group is mixed. Heroes if people will eat standing up. A salad if you want something cold on the table. You do not need a speech. Tell us who is picking up, or the address if it is inside the delivery radius and checkout can confirm it. Leave a little extra time. Services run long. Our close does not move. If the date is a holiday, ask if we are open before you tell the family the food is handled. Gluten-free pasta is a request, not a guess. Everything else can be the regular trays. Familiar food is the kindness. A custom menu is not required, and we do not sell one. 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305 is the shop. The phone is the plan. Date, time, head count, two foods people recognize, and who is picking up. Ask if a holiday is involved. Leave a margin. Familiar trays are enough. You do not need a special menu, and we will not invent one for the day. Two familiar foods, a time, and a person to pick them up will carry the meal. Leave a margin because services run long, and call if the date is a holiday so you are not planning around a closed door. The trays are the regular trays. The kindness is that they show up when you said they would.
