Fried Twinkies

A fried snack cake at $5.00, and what the menu does and does not say about it.

· Brooklyn's Finest

The menu line is short

Fried Twinkies are snack cakes battered and fried, the fair companion to a fried Oreo. The cake warms. The batter crisps. That is the general idea people are searching for. At Brooklyn's Finest Pizza the menu lists Fried Twinkies at $5.00 and does not print a longer description. We will not invent a filling, a count of cakes, or a sauce. The fried Oreo, next to it, does have a sentence: golden-brown outside, warm Oreo inside, $6.99. The Twinkie does not get that sentence. If you need more detail than the name and the price, ask (718) 815-7070.

Both sit in desserts with cannoli at $4.99, zeppole at $3.99, and Juniors cheesecake at $7.49. They are separate items. Ordering one does not bring the other. There is no dessert combo on the menu.

When to add one

A fried Twinkie is a sweet add-on after a pie or a hero, not a meal. It is best hot. A ride across the island softens the batter. Eat it at the shop or on a short pickup. It is a poor thing to order for delivery an hour away, even if the address is inside 4 miles. If the dessert has to wait, a cannoli holds up better than a fried cake.

Kids ask for them. Adults pretend they are ordering for the kids. Either way it is the same $5.00 line. If the group wants a pile of small fried dough instead of a snack cake, zeppole are the pile. The catering special includes zeppoles. It does not say it includes Twinkies. Read the flyer before you assume the dessert.

Not a home recipe from our fryer

People fry Twinkies at home in batter the same way they fry Oreos. Hot oil is dangerous if you do not already know how to fry. This post is not steps from our kitchen, and it is not a batter formula. Buy the dessert if the fryer was the part you wanted to avoid. The fried Oreo post is the cookie version, which at least has a menu sentence to quote.

We will not claim a seasonal version, a ice cream top, or a price that includes a soda. $5.00 is the menu price to confirm in the cart. If it changes, the cart wins.

Order it by name

Order at Order Online, which is order.brooklynsfinestsi.com, or call (718) 815-7070. On an iPhone or iPad, the app sends the same menu. The shop is at 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305. The shop is open until 10:00 PM, and until 10:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. Add the Twinkies when you order the pie if you are eating soon. The dining room is the right place if you want them hot without a plan.

Fried Twinkies here are a $5.00 dessert with no longer description on the menu. Fried Oreos are the described cousin. Cannoli and zeppole are the other sweets. Say the one you want. Ask if the count matters. Then eat it while the batter is still worth eating. The counter is at 1250 Hylan Boulevard. The dessert list is short on purpose. Fried Twinkies are $5.00 and the menu stops there. Fried Oreos are $6.99 and the menu describes them. Cannoli and zeppole are the other sweets. Pick one. Ask how many cakes are in the Twinkie order if you are feeding more than one person, because this page will not invent a count. Eat them while the batter is crisp. A long delivery is the wrong plan. The dining room is the right plan if you want them hot. Do not look for them inside the catering special unless the flyer names them. It names zeppoles. Add the Twinkies yourself if the snack cake is what someone asked for. Confirm $5.00 in the cart. Then stop comparing them to a fair you went to in another state. The version we sell is the line on our dessert list, at the Hylan Boulevard shop, next to the pies. That is the order. Say the name. Eat it soon. Leave the fryer at home if you do not already know how to use one. Fried Twinkies are $5.00 with no longer menu sentence. Ask the count if you are sharing. Eat them at the shop. Cannoli travel better. Zeppole are the pile. Oreos are the described cookie. Add the Twinkie only when someone asked for the snack cake, confirm the price in the cart, and do not look for it inside a catering flyer that names zeppoles instead. The dessert list is short. That is a feature. Point at the line. Pay for the line. Eat it while the batter is still crisp, at 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10305, not an hour later in a cold car. If the ride is long, skip the fried cake and take a cannoli. If you are sitting down, this is the moment. $5.00, the name, and a hot bite. That is the whole item. Ask the count if you are sharing, and eat them before the batter softens.
